The New York Grolier Club is one of the oldest bibliophile club promoting the appreciation of books. Organized in 1884, the club collects books, holds lectures and exhibitions, and publishes books about books. This was the catalogue to an extensive exhibition of the works of Dickens gathered from the club's library and the collections of the members. It is "descriptive of the exhibition and offers no attempt at a bibliography." However, the chronologically listed items by group is impressive. The groups contain the published works of Dickens, speeches, miscellaneous Dickensiana, manuscripts and letters, portraits of Dickens, and personal relics.
