William Lashly (1867-1940) was a Royal Navy sailor assigned to the two Scott expeditions. These are William Lashly’s annotated sledging diaries from Scott's Discovery 1901-4 and Terra Nova 1910-13 expeditions. He provides an undistorted picture of what life was like during the expeditions and the joys and sorrows. He was part of the party to find Scott’s tent with the bodies of Scott, Wilson and Bowers.
