Hugh Robert Mill (1861-1950) was a teacher, geographer, meteorologist, bibliographer, and many other professions. His role in the Royal Geographical Society was critical in the Heroic Age of Polar exploration in the early 1900's. He was a contributor and editor of the 1901 Antarctic Manual, along with many other books and articles. Rosove wrote about this book as "A classic - the finest overview of Antarctic exploration ever written and an essential reference work ..."
