This is a fine reprint of the 1873 Men and Memories of San Francisco by Barry and Patten, who were owners of a famous city saloon and produced an historical geography and biographical directory of San Francisco from 1949 to 1851. From Kurutz, "The authors profiled many of the pioneer businesses in the city, ranging from restaurants to the Chinese Laundry."
