John Ross Brown (1821-1875) was an adventurer, writer, government agent that arrived in San Francisco in 1849. This book is a compilation of Browne's articles on the 1858 Silver discoveries in the Washoe region of California's Eastern Sierras and Nevada, also know as the Comstock Lode.
