John Ledyard (1751-1789) was an early American adventurer and explorer. At 25, he served as a marine corporal on Captain James Cook’s third voyage to the Pacific. This book reprints the complete text of John Ledyard’s journal published in 1783 (first book published in the United States regarding Cook’s third voyage). There is an extensive editor’s preface and introduction by Mr. Sinclair Hitchings with detailed notes and bibliography.
