An early account of the history of Oregon and establishing Methodist Episcopal missions in the Willamette Valley. Also contains a description by Lee, who accompanied Nathaniel Wyeth's 1834 expedition to Oregon to establish trade in the Columbia basin and assisted the first group of Methodist missionaries.

Wheat notes, 'This is a crude map, emphasizing the "Walamet " Mission, with the Oregon Institute, the Mission Sawmill and the Manual Labor School on the Willamette, and the Dalls (sic) Mission and Indians on the Columbia."
