Edward Emory Eberstadt (1883-1958) was a Western Americana rare bookseller. He established Edward Eberstadt and Sons New York bookstore from the early 1900's to 1975. In the days before the internet, book selling required storefronts and, periodically, mailing paper catalogues to customers, which a less common method of advertising in the rare book trade today. He became the foremost "... influential dealer in important books and manuscripts relating to the American West", from William Reese's introduction to Michael Vinson's 2016 book on Eberstadt and Sons, Rare Booksellers of Western Americana.

This Northwest Coast catalogue (#119) was well received when issued and Eberstadt issued a separate review of comments from 24 librarians, collectors, bibliographers throughout the Country. The commentators included Robert E. Cowan, Everett Graff, William Coe, Daniel Haskell, Wright Howes, Thomas W. Streeter, Lawrence Worth, and others.

From 1929 to 1965 there were 90 catalogues issued (Yale, Beinecke Library). In 1965, the Annotated Eberstadt Catalogs of Americana was published and included 35 catalogues (#103 to 138) issued from 1935 to 1956.

Ian Jackson (1951-2018) was a California bookseller, publisher, and author of various bibliographies, books on many subjects, essays and articles.
