Farquhar's famous bibliography of 125 seminal works on the Colorado River and the Grand Canyon from the 16th through the 20th centuries. originally published one year prior to Stegner's Beyond the Hundredth Meridian, which undoubtedly would have made the cut. Small octavo. Beautifully printed and designed by Ward Ritchie. A cornerstone of any Colorado River collection.
Francis Peloubet Farquhar (1887-1974) was a mountaineer, environmentalist, historian, author and certified public accountant. He was active in the Sierra Club from the early 1920’s for the rest of his life. He was also active in the California Historical Society and the San Francisco based California Academy of Sciences.
